Day 1: Dunedin – Oamaru – Omarama – Lake Pukaki – Aoraki Mount Cook – Lake Tekapo

Embark on a journey from Dunedin to Aoraki Mount Cook. After a morning pickup from Dunedin City/Port Chalmers, travel past charming places like Oamaru, Waitaki River, and Omarama. Take a brunch stop in Omarama. Enjoy scenic views and soak in the history of these locations. As you approach Lake Pukaki, stop at lookout points for panoramic views and a scenic drive along the tranquil blue waters. The drive to Mount Cook offers awe-inspiring views. Upon reaching Mount Cook, immerse yourself in the mesmerizing scenery. Opt for the Hooker Valley Track, featuring famous swing bridges, and catch a glimpse of ice at Hooker Lake as time permits. Look out for kea, the world’s only alpine parrot. Alternatively, engage in other activities like a helicopter ride, depending on weather and availability. Visit the ‘Church of the Good Shepherd’ in Lake Tekapo and take a leisurely walk along Lake Tekapo. Check-in to your accommodation in Lake Tekapo. Day 2: Lake Tekapo – Lake Lyndon – Castle Hill – Arthur’s Pass Village – Arthur’s Pass National Park – Otira Viaduct Lookout – TranzAlpine Train Experience – Christchurch

Start another beautiful day with pickup from your hotel in Lake Tekapo. Take a break at Lake Lyndon on the way to Castle Hill. Visit Castle Hill and enjoy the photogenic landscape of stunning limestone rock formations featured in famous Hollywood movies before arriving at Arthur’s Pass Village. Explore Arthur’s Pass National Park with a walk along the Devil’s Punchbowl Walking Track or the Arthur’s Pass Walking Track. Admire the views from the Otira Viaduct Lookout. Board the TranzAlpine Scenic Train at Arthur’s Pass and admire the scenic views, before disembarking at Christchurch Railway Station, where you will be picked up and transferred to your Christchurch hotel.
